Electric cars are more popular than ever in Leominster and beyond, and no one understands this better than Honda! While EVs used to be niche, expensive, and hard to find, these days, almost every automaker has an electric car or an electric variant of an existing model. Honda recently entered into a partnership with General Motors, which owns companies like Cadillac, Chevy, and GMC, to produce a new lineup of affordable electric vehicles. The flagship of this new partnership will be the Honda Prologue, the first-ever Honda electric car! The Honda Prologue won’t be hitting dealerships until 2024, but we have plenty of details to tide you over until then. The Prologue will be a Honda electric SUV, mid-sized with space for five passengers across two rows of seats. In addition, there’s a spacious 102.6 cubic feet of room inside the cabin, so you can stretch out in style and still have plenty of space for cargo! The Prologue has a wheelbase of 121.8 inches, a width of 78.3 inches, and 21-inch wheels.
Like other Honda SUVs, the Prologue is designed to handle anything from the daily Fitchburg commute to an off-road adventure with ease and comfort. You can choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive depending on how much traction you want on the road. Inside the cabin, you’ll find an 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen paired with an 11.0-inch driver information gauge.
While Honda hasn’t announced pricing for the 2024 Prologue, the experts at Kelley Blue Book estimate that it will fall somewhere in the mid-$40,000 range.
Charging your Honda electric SUV can be done quickly at home or on the go! We don’t know what kind of charger the Honda electric car will ship with, but most EVs come standard-equipped with a Level 1 charger that can plug right into a standard three-prong outlet. A Level 2 charger is much more powerful, but it has to be professionally installed by an electrician. Level 3 charging is currently only available in public and offers DC fast-charging capabilities that can give you serious mileage in as little as 30 minutes!
